May 16, 2010 marks a historic time in the Greater Las Vegas Church.  We took up our faith offering.

Also included is a description of what the money is going to be used for.  As a fellowship, we are committed to helping those here in Las Vegas - however - as you will discover in the text below...

Our plan is to have a global impact as well.  The giving is done with the expectation that we are entering into a partnership where we will work together on an intimate level by sharing our lives as we visit we send disciples to our faith partners.  They will in turn send disciples here to participate in the work we are doing here.

The following content may challenge you, inspire you or shock you!  No matter how you respond, you simply need to respond.  The time has come for YOU to let God use your life to bring hope into this world...

May 16 of 2010 WILL NOT be just another Sunday! Why? Our God has given us an opportunity to take the first step towards our DREAMS both here in Las Vegas and those around the world as we do good (Galatians 6:10) to our sister churches in the Philippines, Peru (two churches), Guatemala (two churches), and even local work here in Las Vegas. That's five churches in all! In light of this AMAZING God given opportunity, a good question to ask would be, how should we view our giving? First, as a LIVING SACRIFICE that is holy and pleasing to God. The heart behind our giving anything must be compelled by the MERCY of God in YOUR life. Second, this opportunity is ALL about YOUR faith expressing itself through LOVE! Yes, love! For there can be no greater reason to live out our faith through love!
 
Now, the second way to understand this offering is to see it as a two dimensional offering. Two dimensional? What I mean is this - Jesus commands every disciple in Matthew 28:18-20 to go and make disciples of ALL nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! We want to see this happening all over the world, just as we do in Las Vegas. This is the first dimension of God's dream for the world. However, to simply focus on this albeit vitally important passage alone would be nearsighted, lacking God's greater vision. The other dimension is reaching the poor, the orphans, the hurting, the outcasts, and those who would be seen as, "not sharp." That should stir some of you! You see, the GLVC has a God-given vision, driven by a Holy Discontent to see orphanages created in these cities, to see the sex trade stopped in these cities and to see poverty and disease come to a halt in these cities and around the world and most of all, in Las Vegas! Yes, what happens in Las Vegas sadly does NOT stay in Las Vegas!
 
What will happen with our offering? By partnering together with our sister churches, millions will hear the good news of God's kingdom on earth. And, we believe by faith that God will start orphanages in these cities and together, through His great and mighty power, our God will go before us and use us to attack the sex trade, poverty and diseases, and so allowing the GLVC to live out - Psalms 82:3-4 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. (God says) "They know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness..." Who will set the captives free? You!
 
As you pray and consider your offering, please remember that by doing so you are becoming that holy and pleasing sacrifice to God that He will allow Him to use you and the GLVC to help ALL people ... no longer walk in darkness!
 
Our faith offering, driven by love is a mere $50,000. That would be $250.00 per person who attends this Sunday! (Not to limit your giving.) Please join us as we fulfill this two dimensional dream to see Heaven lived out on earth in our generation!
